We’ve decided to do the yearly vacation this year, even though I don’t actually have paid vacations with this new job. We’ll be at the beach again, rejuvenating our creativity and relaxing by the surf. The place we’re staying has a pool, too, so this year we’ll be able to swim no matter what the tide looks like.
We’ll be staying at Surfside Beach, down near Myrtle. Only four of us this year, so we’re renting a condo instead of a house. It’ll be a tighter fit, but we’ll have fun. There’s just something about a week at the beach that restores your inner being and creativity. I’ll take the laptop of course, and hopefully work on some of my writing. We’ll have to see where I am in September.
I hate that I don’t have a paid vacation week but I think I can squeak by with only three paychecks that month. I have a little money saved up in case of an emergency and I’m planning to put the groceries, etc. on the credit card for later payment. Of course, now that I’ve made the reservations I’m already wishing September was here!
