I seem to have reached the end of the novel. Great, you say — now what?
Now comes the hard part. I need to get the novel professionally edited – that will cost some money. I’d especially like to find an Irish beta reader to check on Tell’s character and make sure he acts and talks like a Dubliner.
I need to formulate my synopsis, blurbs, and a query letter. If you’re not a writer, that means I’ve got to somehow condense an 80,000 word manuscript into a one-page synopsis (with ending given). I then have to come up with the blurbs that would go on the back cover of the novel. And last, I have to write a convincing letter to an agent convincing them they really want to read over my manuscript and think about representing me.
So typing “The End” is just the beginning.
