I’m co-chairing our local critique group meeting Monday evening, since our regular chairwoman is on vacation this week. My duties will be keeping track of who’s reading and in which order the critique-ers will speak. This is good, because I don’t think I could handle running the chat room all by myself. SCWA meets every other Monday — and it stands for South Carolina Writer’s Association.
I’m working on a velyr “alt-history detective story” for an anthology. Need to get a move on with it though — due date is the 30th! It’s finished. I just need to do a final polish and am running it past a couple of writing buddies to see what they think about it. I may or may not finish a story for “Navigating the Ruins.” It’s a sad piece so it’s harder to write than the other stories have been. Next up, I’ll submit a few stories to various magazines.
