I am “attending” the Quills Conference by the League of Utah Writers. It’s a hybrid event with virtual sessions along with live stuff. I couldn’t get away from work for a long weekend and didn’t really have the spare cash to afford the travel and hotel so I’m virtually present at least. I didn’t have to pay for the event because I won the scavenger hunt last year and won a free ticket!

We started the morning with Zen for the Writer with Johnny Worthen, who is always a tie-died treasure! I then had to get my car’s AC repaired so I missed a couple of sessions, like “He Said, She Said” and the agents & editors Q&A. I did “attend” a good session on writing comedy and then I had to go to work (boo!) so I missed the evening courses but I’ll be off all day tomorrow and Sunday, so I’ll get plenty of information for us then. Not everything is live-streamed, which is a shame because there are lots of sessions that sound as if I’d really enjoy them. Maybe next year I can get the time off and actually attend in person!
