OK I’ll admit it. I’ve never read Bob’s sci-fi stories, even though we’re in a writing group together & I consider him a friend. However, I’m remedying this by starting with The Dust of Stars.
This is the first in a series, so if I really like it, there are others I can snag to read, which is great. The plot is about a man who owns something called a World Engine, a device capable of creating star systems. He basically makes a living being paid to create stars — and the planets around them for people to live on. In the first book, a zillionaire has hired him to outdo another zillionaire’s “perfect” planet. The hero collects a band of oddball helpers & sets out on his mission. So far, it’s interesting, and if I like it, I’ll review it for him. Stay tuned to this channel …
