It’s First Wednesday, so time for another Insecure Writer’s Support Group post!
September 6 question: The IWSG celebrates 12 years today! When did you discover the IWSG, how do you connect, and how has it helped you?
I first discovered Insecure Writer’s Support Group about 2 years ago (has it really been that long?) when I submitted for one of the anthologies. Once I realized they had a website and a support group, I signed up!
I feel that IWSG has helped me by connecting me with some of my fellow writers in the blog-o-sphere and by making me write at least one blog every month (although I’m generally fairly good at putting something out on a regular basis). I like the questions we get in the newsletter and the information once a month, too.
I live in hope of getting a story into one of our anthologies, however. That would be the ultimate pat on the back as an insecure writer. I did get a polite, personalized rejection last time, so maybe the next anthology will be the one I make it into. I need some writing creds so I can try to join the science fiction organizations…
Looking forward to browsing my comrades’ blogs to see how long they’ve been members and what they enjoy most from the group.
Great goal of getting into the anthology!
The IWSG is celebrating 12 years today, which is so amazing for a blogging community of writers. A dozen years of support! 🎉

September is library card sign-up month! Get one, use one, and be grateful such places exist.

I can hardly believe we’ve been around for 12 whole years! I’m hoping I can get into an anthology sometime …
