I’m not a big autobiography/memoir reader, so I picked this book up on a whim, just to see what sort of voice Patrick Stewart the writer might have (I know, he probably had a ghost writer).
I quickly found myself fascinated. Patrick Steward the author sounds exactly like Patrick Stewart the actor – or like the kindly uncle with the amazing stories who captured your attention as a child. It’s not that anything truly astonishing is revealed in the pages of the book (or not so far, at any rate), but the way that Stewart tells his story pulls you in and keeps your attention. He truly is a master of words, as is obvious by his long and successful career on stage and screen. And I haven’t even gotten to the part about Star Trek: Next Generation!
