We have started the year off as best we could. I stayed up until midnight and toasted the New Year with a glass of champagne (the roomie crashed on me). On New Year’s Day, we ate black-eyed peas and collard greens for luck. Let’s hope it works.
I’ll be working on Book 2 this year. I’ve gotten a few chapters down during NaNoWriMo but they need some heavy editing. I’m also currently churning out plot outlines for Mail Order Bride romances … it’s paying pennies really, but it helps with the grocery bill. I feel certain I could get paid more if I really put some effort into looking around. Or then again, maybe not. The whole idea behind these publishers who turn out massive volumes of romance books is to get the outlines as cheaply as possible and the novels written for almost as cheaply.
I’m also going to concentrate on getting some more quality short stories out there in competition with other sci-fi writers. I have a Patreon account that I would like to improve also, with a bank of short stories and character studies and stuff. I should get those done sometime too, just in case I sell the book and actually have a Patreon following….
