It’s First Wednesday, so it’s time for another Insecure Writer’s Support Group post!
March 6th question: Have you “played” with AI to write those nasty synopses, or do you refuse to go that route? How do you feel about AI’s impact on creative writing?
I have not experimented with AI writing at all yet. To be honest, I’m a little afraid of AI chatbots and what they might be able to learn from me!
I think AI has become a huge crutch for lazy writers, who are now flooding the market with substandard work that makes the reader believe that all writing is that poor. However, I can’t think of a way to weed out these “writers” from those of us who are actually trying to produce a quality product. After all, the worst human writer sounds even less plausible than the best AI.
I might eventually dip my toes into the AI world, if only to see what all the fuss is about. Maybe I can see what story ideas it might come up with, or get the thing to write up a synopsis or outline for my latest manuscript for me. If it could do that, I’d be grateful…
