I’ve found a second Tarot series, this one by Bevan Atkinson.
This series is less light-hearted than Steve Hockensmith’s, though there is humor. The murders are a little more upfront and in-your-face as well, which doesn’t bother me. Our heroine is a bonafide mystic who sometimes gets visions when she reads the cards. In the first book, a mysterious man literally runs into her San Francisco home (he’s been shot and loses control of the car) and thus becomes part of her collection of lost souls (both human and animal). There are six books in the series and I’m only on Book Three, but I’m enjoying the ride. I like the virtual trip to San Francisco, one of my favorite American cities, and I always love a touch of the paranormal. If you like Tarot and mysticism with your mysteries, you should give this series a shot.
