Every now and then, I like to read something fluffy that takes little to no thought to understand.
Yes…I do read the occasional romance novel!
When I do read a romance, I like something either sci-fi-related or with an exotic location somewhere. I also have (only a few) favorite authors, so I tend to stick to writers who can actually hang a good story together. The books might be fluffy but writing them is just as hard as any other book.
This week, I’m starting a new series set in Alaska. It’s by Debbie Macomber and it’s got all the fluff buttons: the “I’m never going to get married” one, the exotic setting, a quirky cast of characters, and throw in a little comedy (brothers who run an airline business in a small town in backwoods Alaska decide to send away for women), and you’ve got the Midnight Sons series. It’s definitely fluffy … we’ll see if I purchase Book 2, etc…
